Recipe/Ingredients:
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces.
- 2 cups basmati rice soaked for 30 minutes and drained.
- 2 onions thinly sliced.
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 4 tomatoes, chopped.
- 4 green chilies, split lengthwise.
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped.
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped.
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste.
- 1/2 cup cooking oil or ghee
- 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads, soaked in 2 tablespoons warm milk.
- Salt to taste
Whole Spices:
- 4 cloves
- 4 green cardamom pods
- 2-inch cinnamon stick
- 2 bay leaves
Biryani Masala (Spice Mix):
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
